Job Description

The SAP Master Data Analyst is responsible for managing and ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of master data in SAP, including product, supplier, and customer data. This role requires a proactive approach to data governance, quality assurance, and process improvement to support cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is meticulous, has strong analytical abilities, and possesses experience with SAP master data management.

  1. Master Data Management
    • Create, update, and maintain master data for products, suppliers, and customers in SAP, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across systems.
    • Implement and adhere to data governance standards, guidelines, and procedures for all master data.
    • Address and resolve data discrepancies and inaccuracies, collaborating with relevant stakeholders as needed.
  2. Data Quality Assurance
    • Perform regular data quality checks and identify discrepancies or inconsistencies in product, supplier, and customer data.
    • Develop and implement validation protocols to ensure compliance with industry and company data standards.
    • Proactively identify and address data quality issues, driving corrective actions to ensure data integrity.
  3. Process Improvement
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Marketing, Procurement, Sales, Supply Chain, and Finance) to streamline data-related processes for greater efficiency.
    • Identify and implement best practices in master data management, proposing enhancements to SAP configurations and workflows where needed.
    • Contribute to projects related to data migration, system upgrades, and SAP enhancements for improved data accuracy and usability.
  4. Reporting & Analysis
    • Generate and distribute reports on master data quality metrics and performance indicators.
    • Analyze product, supplier, and customer data trends to support business decision-making and identify optimization opportunities.
    • Provide data insights and respond to ad-hoc queries from various departments.
  5. Training and Support
    • Train team members and end-users on best practices for data management and SAP usage.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for SAP master data related to products, suppliers, and customers, assisting users with technical issues and questions.

Document data management processes, standards, and guidelines to maintain consistency and support knowledge sharing.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SAP, particularly in modules relevant to master data management (e.g., MM, SD, and Vendor/Customer Master Data).
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices for maintaining high data quality.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

 

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Management, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in a data management role, preferably within an SAP environment.
  • Experience managing product, supplier, and customer master data, ideally in manufacturing, technology, or similar industries.

Additional Information

  • Typical hours of 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday.
